Magic Land

On Friday night we went with the Middle School boy’s dorm to a place called Magic Land. It’s a “Theme” park here in Dakar. I place “theme” in parentheses because there is really not one sure theme at the park. It appears that all the elements of the park are hand me downs from other theme parks. For example, there is large figure of a wizard at one end of the park but there are also gold miners, Indians, and ancient Egyptians. Nonetheless, it is a really neat place for the kids. It is really clean (especially for Africa) and safe. We had a great time with the kids and the kids had a really great time on the rides. It is fun to see the dorm kids having a fun time here. It will be fun to return there next year.

Middle School Retreat

Last weekend David was involved in the Middle School Youth Group Retreat. David has be working with Middle School Youth Group all year as a sponsor. This past weekend he led worship at the retreat. The speaker was one of the teachers from at Dakar Academy. He spoke on David and how being a man after God’s own heart can affect not only one’s personal life but can have an affect on many generations to come. Despite one broken string on the guitar (a curse that seems to follow David) the worship went very well.
