Home?

Well we are now in Minnesota after a week of visiting our good friends in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. It is really nice to be "home." We find it strange just how much this still feels like home even though we now live thousands of miles away and this is not the place where either of us grew up. We have another week here then we are heading back to Ontario for a while. We will keep you all updated as we go.

Home

Sorry for the big delay... Last time we checked in we were in Amsterdam. Since then we spent two great weeks with family in Canada. We are now traveling to Wisconsin and Minnesota where we will check in with our home church. We have been having a great trip though Michelle is ill right now. She has what appears to be the Flu. Please keep her in your prayers. She is in quite a bit of discomfort. :( We will check in more often now since we should have better access to the internet.

Heading Home

For those who do not know we are on our way back to North America! The school is on summer break and we are going to be going to Canada, Minnesota, and Texas. It will be a busy but very fun summer. Yesterday we were in Lisbon and got to tour the city. We are now in amsterdam. More later...

JSB

The Junior-Senior Banquet (JSB) is our equivalent to a prom at a typical public school. The major difference is that there is no dancing. The kids had a great time and did a really nice job of planning it out. David and Michelle chaperoned the "after-party" at a local Jazz Cafe. It was a really fun but long night.

Basketball

Last Friday there a basketball game between the DA basketball team and the Alumni. Since David graduated from DA in 1994 (and actually played on the basketball team) he was asked to play. It was really fun even though the Alumni were handily defeated by the younger players.

David was pretty exhausted after this game. Posted by Hello

Baptism

We recently had a baptism for our students here at Dakar Academy! It was really neat to see these kids publicly state their faith and plans to follow Jesus. All of these kids are MKs and have grown up in Christian homes but had not yet been baptized.

Unfortunately, there was a german lady who was just swimming around right alongside the people being baptized. You would think she would be embarrased since there were probably 150 people watching but she seemed totally happy to be swimming out there. Someone did go and talk to her about the gospel after it was all over so there was a positive outcome. Posted by Hello
